CBD Oil FAQ

FAQ

Are you allowed to grow hemp?

Yes! In 2014, the U.S. Farm Bill legalized the growth of industrial hemp in states where it had been approved by law — in 2017, Governor Cuomo signed Senate Bill 6787 in support of New York state growing industrial hemp. We were one of the first farms licensed in NYS to grow hemp and are one of a handful of processors licensed for CBD oil.

Is CBD legal?

Yes! When CBD is hemp-derived — like ours is — it’s completely legal to buy and use CBD products anywhere in the United States.

What is H&H CBD Oil?

It’s an all-natural, ethanol-extracted CBD and MCT oil combination, formulated to support your body and mind.

How much CBD should I take?

Properly dosed CBD is crucial. That’s because your body’s response to CBD dosage is bell-curved. Too little and you won’t feel anything; too much and it’ll dampen the impact with reported side effects like lethargy and diarrhea (not chill).

It’s all about finding your “Goldilocks Zone” – ah, just right!

We suggest starting low and slow. Begin with 20mg per day for one week. If you feel no effect, increase your dosage by 20mg a week until you find your sweet spot. Click here for more information about dosing.

How can CBD help me?

Cannabinoids interact with our endocannabinoid systems (ECS) and affect our minds, nervous systems, immunity, skin, bones, organs, and more. Ingesting phytocannabinoids, like CBD, has been shown to help control pain, alleviate anxiety, aid sleep, promote a sense of well being, and more.

Does CBD expire?

Our tinctures have a shelf-life of at least 1 year, if stored in a cool, dark, dry place.

How long does a bottle of CBD last?

Each bottle contains approximately 30 doses; how long a bottle lasts will depend on how many doses you take per day. On average, customers take 2 doses per day, and a single bottle lasts 2 weeks.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

Probably not — but it might. Any product derived from cannabis plants contains trace amounts of THC, so while the chance is low, we can’t guarantee our oil won’t show up on a drug test.

Can you smoke CBD Oil?

Please don’t! MCT oil, which is one component of our tincture, becomes carcinogenic when it’s heated. We will be offering a product meant specifically for vaping soon.

Will it help my pet?

Yes! Our tincture is completely pet-friendly, and our CEO gives her own dog CBD every morning for anxiety and pain. You’ll see CBD on the market specifically for pets. There is no difference in the oil – brands just know that people will pay more for pet products. The exact same ingredients are in the bottle. Pets do require lower doses of CBD than humans, though, so follow the dosing guidelines.

Can I put H&H CBD Oil on my skin?

While you can certainly safely put our oil on your skin, it’s not designed or formulated for that purpose. If you are interested in topicals, check out our entire line of lotions and salves!

Will this get me high?

Sorry…but no! Our tincture contains less than 0.3% THC (the legal limit), which is the component of the cannabis plant that produces a “high.” CBD, the main ingredient, is completely non-psychoactive.

Are hemp and marijuana the same thing?

Not exactly! They’re both cannabis plants, and they both interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in the body, but that’s where the similarities end. Marijuana is high in THC, the component that makes you feel “high” — hemp contains less than .3% THC, but is very rich in CBD. Hemp, and hemp-derived CBD, is legal in all 50 states.
